Sheephead are a powerful kelp forest character. Their powerful jaw and abnormally large teeth help them prey or animals such as sea urchins, making them a key player in the kelp forest food chain. They are also sequential hermaphrodites, meaning all shepherd are born female, and long living, dominant individuals turn into males along their life cycle. Super cool.
